ERASMUS

ERASMUS is the EU program for the promotion of vocational and general education

Semesters abroad via the Erasmus program are only possible at universities with which a corresponding contract exists. The current Erasmus partner universities are listed on the IStO website, where the contact person is Mr. Marco-Martori. A current list of partner universities with which a contract exists in the field of biology is available on request from the subject advisor. This list also contains the contact persons at the partner universities, links to the courses offered and other information.

Funding: no tuition fees, ERASMUS pays a mobility grant (450 - 600 € / month depending on the destination country)
Further information on funding can be found on the IStO website.

An increase of the scholarship (Top Up) is possible in the following cases (application to the IStO):

Special funding of 250 € / month for students with child(ren), students with disabilities, students with chronic illnesses that result in additional financial needs; students with both parents without a university degree; adult students (see information slides)

50 € lump sum + 4 additional funding days for travel without airplane or car

Scope of teaching achievements: Ideally, 30 ECTS per semester should be achieved. No mobility grant will be paid for less than 20 ECTS. No more than 25% of the ECTS may come from language courses.

Courses arerecognized by the Chair of the Examination Board. Courses are recognized as equivalent to KIT biology modules if they fit the profile of the curriculum and correspond to the modules in terms of scope (number of ECTS credits) and the type of performance assessment. It is recommended that you enquire about this with the subject advisor or the chair of the examination board before beginning your stay abroad. When you return, bring as much documentation as possible about the course you have completed. The actual recognition of the courses will take place after your stay.
